About the Class

The feminine is far more than one facet of the soul; rather, it is comprised of many aspects.

In Greco-Roman mythology, there were many goddesses, each with her own domain and sphere of influence. Gaia was the goddess of the earth. Hera was the queen of the gods. The beautiful Aphrodite ruled over love. Athena was known for her wisdom.

In modern times, these goddesses reflect such aspects of the feminine as the mother, the wife, the lover and the strategist.

Other lesser-known goddesses include Persephone, the queen of the underworld; Vesta, the keeper of the sacred fire; Eris, the goddess of strife; and Hecate, the goddess of spells and witchcraft. Here, we meet the intuitive, healing, disruptive and darker faces of the feminine.

Generally, we tend to favour one or two aspects of the feminine. The archetypes that we develop will bless us with their powers. Conversely, the archetypes we deny and leave undeveloped may become problematic – we are cursed by the goddesses we ignore until we make amends.

In this session, we will explore the various facets of the archetypal feminine to understand the gifts and demands of each, as well as the negative face and what we meet if we ignore that goddess.

*While this session would appear to be of more relevance to women, it will also be of interest to men who seek a better understanding of the women in their lives as well as the feminine aspects of their interior being.
