Jung's Red Book
$
Having long been kept secret, Jung’s Red Book was published in2009. Since then, it has become a source of inquiry into the inspiration behindJung’s thinking.
Followinghis break from Freud, Jung experienced a personal crisis, which he laterdescribed as a confrontation with the unconscious.
Duringthis period, in the evenings, Jung took to exploring his creative fantasies.Sitting alone in his study, Jung delved into an imaginal realm and recorded hisexperiences in a series of ‘Black Books’. Later, he transcribed this materialinto the ‘Red Book’.
This RedBook captured Jung’s inner journey and would prove to serve as the key source of creative raw material for decades to come.
In this session, we will explore Jung’s encounter with the ‘Spirit of the Depths’ and its contrast with the ‘Spirit of the Times’.
Extracts from the Red Book will be provided.
